We are seeking an experienced Homeowners Insurance Underwriter, in our Scottsdale, Arizona office, to evaluate and manage new and renewal business in accordance with company guidelines while exercising sound underwriting judgment.

The candidate will evaluate and underwrite new homeowners insurance applications to ensure compliance with company underwriting standards. They will review renewal policies to assess continued eligibility, identify changes in exposure, and analyze overall account profitability. This role requires close collaboration with internal agents, providing underwriting guidance, feedback, and education to foster strong partnerships and support high-quality submissions. The candidate will exercise independent judgment to balance disciplined risk selection with retention and profitability objectives. Additionally, they will maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements and coverage variations across the company’s operating states (AZ, CA, ID, NV, UT, and TX) and document underwriting decisions clearly and accurately within automated systems.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of direct homeowners/property underwriting experience (P&C background preferred).
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of multi-state regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with underwriting platforms and office software.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and professional judgment.
